Aptina

Aptina is a leader in CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) imaging technology. The company was founded in 2008 and is headquartered in San Jose, California. It was acquired by ON Semiconductor in 2014. Its digital image sensor components and processors still use standard digital and video cameras, as well as cameras built into mobile phones, computers, and surveillance equipment. The company also produces a range of medical imaging sensors (for example, during colonoscopy) and automotive cameras that make rear-view image sensors. Aptina partners with handset manufacturers and camera components to design and sell their products in North America, Europe and Asia with branches or offices.
